Holiday spoiling- 7 month old not wanting to go down! Ideas?

holiday travel

Hi, during the holidays we traveled around a lot. That means our son had to sleep in the bed with us most of time, which he loves. Now that we are back home, each night after he falls asleep after his bottle and we put him down, he wakes up immediately. I’ve tried to let him cry it out, which worked once, but usually I end up having to go in and pick him up and rock him back to sleep for another 30 mins. Then he will go back to sleep. Most of the time he will sleep halfway through the night and then wake up again. What can we do to get him back to his routine?

  1. he needs some tough love. he’ll get over it.

  2. All you can do is to keep up with the routine. He might be teething or having dreams that wake him up now. Remember… parents spend the first ten years trying to get their children to bed, and the second ten years trying to get them out of bed (lol). Hang in there…

  3. just explain
    he can fall…………………..

  4. Start with a bed time routine for one thing so he knows its bed time. If you are going to let him cry it out stick with it. Its really confusing if you let him cry for long periods and then pick him up. If you do try it go in and check on him and rub him for progressively longer times. Dont leave him all alone the whole time. Other methods are the pick up, put down method. Where if they start crying you pick them up, calm them by holding and put them down untill when they stop crying. Repeat it till they stay calm and go to sleep. That might be exhausting cause you might have to do it 100 times. Or you can stay in his room and rub him till he falls alseep in his crib. Do that for a couple nights and then stand by his crib without rubbing him and say Shhhh shhhh shhh for a couple nights and then the middle of the room saying shhhhh and then at the door ect till you lay him down and leave the room.
Hope one of these idea’s work for you.
