How do you recommend traveling from Amsterdam to Prague?
Wondering if it is worthwhile to take a train overnight to get from Amsterdam to Prague, so we don’t lose a day of sightseeing to travel (and save the cost of a night’s lodging!). I’ve also heard there are cheap flights between the cities. Those of you who’ve done the trip, what do you recommend?

Thanks for the replies so far- which train would be the overnight train? Does it have a lot of stops, and do you have to switch trains throughout the night? Any further details on that would be GREATLY appreciated!
I’ve looked up the trains, and see prices at 39,119,135,145, & 215 — but I can’t for the life of me see what each of those prices gets you (private car? A bed? etc). Any help would be great- we’d want to be able to sleep as comfortably as possible if we went this way.

Do the flight for sure. I stayed in Europe for 3 months one summer and flew everywhere. The rails are not as cheap as some people think.
You can probably catch a flight for about $30.

The night train is my choice because you save a hotel night and time, and it’s a hassle to fly these days. It leaves amsterdam at 7:03 pm and arrives in prague at 9:33 next am. It’ll cost at least $100, but less than $175.

The train leaves from Amsterdam CS, @19.03 and arrives in Prague the next morning @09.18 so it takes about 14 hours. You can order a ticket via and if you book early enough a sit place can be EUR 39, and a bed for 135.

im going from amsterdam-belgium-prague in summer and i found to prague the flights are cheapest.

I would recommend to fly. We flew from Amsterdam to Prague.
It was a short flight, we then took a buss to downtown Prague, walked around all day long and took a flight back to Amsterdam. We saw all we wanted to see (in downtown Praque} in 1 day.
